Macquarie University Hospital are looking to recruit a Senior Resident Medical Officer for an ongoing role in 2023

Selection Criteria

To be considered for this position you must have the following:

• AHPRA General Medical Registration (or eligible to obtain registration)
• Working with Children’s Check Clearance for NSW
• National Criminal Record Check
• Immunisation and Vaccinations Check
• Venipuncture certificate

Position Purpose

The purpose of this position is to provide high quality clinical assessment, management and consultation to patients with conditions applicable to their rotation at MUH, MQ Health Clinics and external rotation sites. The role will aim to advance the skills and experience of the junior doctor beyond the PGY2 level. There will be an expectation of provision of and participation in education, supervision of students and engagement in ongoing quality assurance and improvement activities at the discipline, and program levels.

MQ Health offers the following term rotations:

• General Practice
• Neurosurgery
• Cardiology
• Medical Oncology/Haematology
• Orthopaedics
• General Surgery
• Gastroenterology/Respiratory/Endocrinology
• ENT / Ophthalmology / Cardiothoracic Surgery / Vascular Surgery
• ICU / Anaesthetics

Skills and Experience

• Successful completion of Post-Graduate Years 1 and 2
• Active (or eligible to be an active) Accredited Practitioner of MUH.
• Proven commitment to education and research.
• Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a wide range of stakeholders including patients and other health professionals.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Knowledge of and commitment to continuous improvement, evidence based practice and promoting a culture of safety, quality, innovation and best practice in clinical practice, teaching and research.
• Commitment to uphold and be a steward of the Mission, Vision and Values of MQ Health
• ALS2 training to enable participation the Code Blue (Emergency response)
