The Position – Locum Emergency Medicine Consultant (FACEM)

• An Emergency Medicine Consultant (FACEM) is required for the below periods in May:
• Commencing 14:00 Monday, 8 May 2023 through to 24:00 Tuesday, 9 May 2023 (2 shifts)
  • Rates for the shifts will be $3,000.00 for each 10 hour shift.
  • If attendance is required between the hours of 24:00 to 08:00 the rate of $300.00 per hour will be applied
• Commencing 14:00 Monday, 15 May 2023 through to 24:00 Wednesday, 24 May 2023 (8 shifts)
  • 2 Day shifts working 08:00 to 18:00
  • 6 Afternoon/evening shifts 14:00 to 24:00
  • 2 Days off inbetween
  • Rates for the shifts will be $3,000.00 for each 10 hour shift.
  • If attendance is required between the hours of 24:00 to 08:00 the rate of $300.00 per hour will be applied
• The consultant will be required to be available after hours to assist with patient management outside of their shifts (e.g. major multi-trauma)
• Consultant will be required to provide supervision to the RMO, intern and medical student workforce in the ED as well as take on their own clinical load
• Mount Gambier Hospital Emergency Department has two resuscitation rooms, fast track treatment areas, multiple treatment bays, an infectious isolation room and a separate paediatric area

The Location – Mount Gambier, South Australia

Mount Gambier is also well known for its geographical features, particularly its volcanic and limestone features, most notably its Blue Lake, parks and gardens, caves and sinkholes. Mount Gambier has a warm-summer Mediterranean climate. The town has warm, dry summers and cool, wet winters

Selection Criteria

To be considered for this Locum Emergency Medicine Consultant (FACEM) , applicants must have Specialist Registration with AHPRA and complete all required paperwork.
