The Position – Locum Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon

• A Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon is required ASAP until 17:00 on the 2nd June
• The Orthopaedic Surgeon on call will be supported by the Emergency Department medical staff and other on call staff specialists.
• The incumbent will be required to:
  • Provide on call cover and emergency surgery
  • Theatre lists
  • Pre and post surgical care to orthopaedic inpatients.
  • Outpatient clinics.
• Full details of rostering and on call requirements will be made available on confirmation of placement.
• Mount Gambier Hospital Emergency Department has two resuscitation rooms, fast track treatment areas, multiple treatment bays, an infectious isolation room and a separate paediatric area
• Rates for this period would be at the escalated rate of $2,500 per day for normal shifts (08:00 to 17:00) and $2,800 per day for 24 hour on call period.

The Location – Mount Gambier, South Australia

Mount Gambier is also well known for its geographical features, particularly its volcanic and limestone features, most notably its Blue Lake, parks and gardens, caves and sinkholes. Mount Gambier has a warm-summer Mediterranean climate. The town has warm, dry summers and cool, wet winters

Selection Criteria

To be considered for this Locum Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, applicants must have Specialist Registration with AHPRA and complete all required paperwork.

Whilst working at Mount Gambier & Districts Health Service the incumbent will be required to have their own public indemnity insurance.
