The Position – Locum Consultant Psychiatrist

Darling Downs Hospital and Health Service have several vacancies for a Locum Consultant Psychiatrist over the following dates:

Start: August 2023 and Finish: December 2023

• Daily rate is $2600 per rostered shift
• Roster is Monday to Friday 0800-1630 with no oncall unless in emergent situations
• Role will include adult acute and rehab – community with a small component of inpatient
• Registrar support
• Role may include travel to rural facilities
• Accommodation provided for duration of placement
• Return economy travel to and from Toowoomba provided or if driving mileage can be claimed for return trip at 37.5c/km

The Location – Toowoomba, Queensland

Toowoomba is a city in the Darling Downs region of southern Queensland, Australia. It’s known for Cobb & Co Museum, with its horse-drawn carriages. The Royal Bull’s Head Inn is an 1800s homestead with colonial-era displays. To the northeast, Ravensbourne National Park is home to towering red cedars and rainforest. Nearby Crows Nest National Park features a eucalypt forest, granite boulders and Crows Nest Falls.

Toowoomba weather is slightly cooler climate than the rest of Queensland, making it more comfortable to be outdoors for longer periods of time.

Selection Criteria

To be considered for this Locum Consultant Psychiatrist position, applicants must have Specialist Registration with AHPRA and complete all required paperwork.
