The Position – Locum Consultant Psychiatrist

The Peacock Centre is a newly rebuilt centre that houses a 12 bed short stay unit providing specialist assessment and treatment in a homelike environment for people who do not require hospital admission and they require a Locum Consultant Psychiatrist for the following vacancy :

• 6th November 2023 to 4th February 2024
• Full time – day shifts only
• $2500 per rostered day
• Travel and accommodation provided
• Role supported by clinical director and team leader
• The Centre provides contemporary, recovery focused and compassionate care and is an integration hub where people can be linked with a range of community service providers
• The service is well resourced by a multidisciplinary team of nursing and allied health professionals, consumer peer support workers and a Registrar/CMO who is onsite 7 days per week

The Location – Hobart, Tasmania

The Peacock Centre is located a short distance from the City of Hobart with cafes, weekend farmers markets and restaurants serving fantastic fresh Tasmania produce, with views of our great mountain and river.

You might choose to base your accommodation in a country town within the greater Hobart area. If you have a family, there are some excellent local primary and secondary schools, with the University of Tasmania on our doorstep.

Selection Criteria

To be considered for this Locum Consultant Psychiatrist position, applicants must have Specialist Registration with AHPRA and complete all required paperwork.
