The Position – Locum Paediatrician Consultant

• Locum Consultant Paediatrician required 27th March until 2nd April 2023
• Rate between $2000-$3000 per shift depending on experience plus travel and accommodation
• Albany Hospital has approximately 520 births per year 
• There is NO special care nursery. Planned deliveries from 37 weeks onwards only. GP obstetricians generally manage babies and consult paediatricians as required. Unwell babies managed until transfer to Perth by NETS. This may include managing babies on bubble CPAP, IV fluids etc
• Junior support = RMO, Registrar
• Afterhours on call required on a rostered basis. Ward cover and outpatient clinics. Ward cover – Inpatient management, ED and neonate consults as well as GP advice.  Calls come into RMO phone and then discussed with consultant. Clinics – Medical and Developmental clinics including supervision of junior staff

The Location – Albany, Western Australia

Albany is a city at the southern tip of Western Australia. It’s known for its beaches, such as popular Middleton Beach. East of the city, Two Peoples Bay Nature Reserve is home to secluded Little Beach. Albany’s Historic Whaling Station, a former whale processing plant, now houses a museum.

Selection Criteria

To be considered for this Locum Paediatric Consultant position, applicants must have Specialist Registration with AHPRA and complete all required paperwork. Applicants must also have the following to be considered for this position:

• Current CV with email address and 2 referees
• Western Australian Working with Children
• Criminal Record Screening / National Police Clearance
• COVID-19 Vaccination certificate essential to work in WACHS facilities.
