The Position – Locum Consultant Palliative Care Physician

Wauchope District Memorial Hospital on the beautiful Mid North Coast of New South Wales is currently looking for one a Locum Consultant Palliative Care Physician

• Monday 04/12/2023 – Monday 18/12/2023
• Full registration with the NSW Medical Board/ AHPRA as a Specialist – Registration MUST BE IN PLACE.
• Applicable Australian Specialist College Membership –MUST BE IN PLACE
• Experience as a VMO Palliative Care Physician in public or private hospital setting
• Demonstrate ability to work and communicate effectively as part of a team and provide leadership of JMO’s
• Covering Ward rounds and other duties as deemed by the Head of Department
• Staff Education and Training may be required
• $2000 per day (all-inclusive hours and on-call as per roster 08:00-08:00)
• All hours worked (incl. on-call) each day are covered by the $2000/day payment
• VMO Claims are to be completed and submitted online via VMoney Web per NSW Ministry of Health requirements
• Return airfares for any Australian city, cap of $450 return applicable.
• Accommodation provided for period of stay with the locum required to arrive the evening prior and depart either late the last contracted date evening upon completion of the session or the next morning. (Accommodation booked by MNCLHD)
• Hire Car ($50 per day car hire cap, booked by MNCLHD)
• Locum VMO’s may prefer to drive and are able to claim reimbursement for kilometres via their VMO Claim.
• VMO Claims are completed online via V-Money Web, assistance and support provided.

The Location – Mid North Coast, New South Wales

Wauchope is a town in the Mid North Coast region of New South Wales, Australia. It is within the boundaries of the Port Macquarie-Hastings Council area and is 383 km north of the state capital Sydney.

Wauchope is inland on the Hastings River and the Oxley Highway 19 km west of Port Macquarie. For visitors the town’s major attraction is the 35 ha Timbertown Pioneer Village which celebrates the district’s 19th century timber origins.

Selection Criteria

To be considered for this Locum Consultant Palliative Care Physician position, applicants must have Specialist Registration with AHPRA and complete all required paperwork.
