The Position – Locum Consultant GP Obstetrics

Narrabri Hospital in New South Wales require a Locum Consultant GP Obstetrics for the below vacancy:

• Wednesday 18th October until Sunday 22nd October
• Tuesday 19th December until Sunday 24th December
• Shift times are 0700-1900 each day
• Rate of pay is $2750 per rostered day
• Travel and accommodation provided – in a self contained duplex located on the health service campus – alternatively, accommodation within the town of Narrabri can be arranged
• Narrabri District Health Service Hospital has a 28 bed inpatient unit, an Emergency Department (averaging 12-25 patients in 24 hours) & Operating Theatre
• Coverage for emergency anaesthetics & booked general surgery (operating 2 days per week)
• Work in the GP clinic 5.5 days per week (except if in the operating theatre)
• Provide on-call for the Emergency Department as part of the on-call roster
• Coverage of the Emergency Department on weekends as first on-call

The Location – Narrabri, New South Wales

Near the stunning wilderness of Mount Kaputar and the beautiful Namoi Valley, historic Narrabri is a great base for outdoor adventure. From canoeing and camping to exploring volcanic formations, this region is spectacular. Linger longer to discover colonial heritage and local produce.

The magnificent Mount Kaputar National Park is a short drive east of Narrabri, and a perfect spot for camping, cycling, horse riding and birdwatching. The Sawn Rocks walking track is a reminder of Mount Kaputar’s volcanic past. The panorama from the Mount Kaputar Summit lookout is breathtaking. This easily accessible spot also has picnic tables.

Near the Pilliga Forest, Yarrie Lake is popular for swimming, fishing and boating. You’ll also enjoy yabbying, casting a line or taking a tour at Narrabri Fish Farm, the largest freshwater fish farm in NSW. 

Selection Criteria

To be considered for this Locum Consultant Locum Gp Obstetrics position, applicants must have Specialist Registration with AHPRA and complete all required paperwork.
