The Position – Director of Medical Services

Based at the Mount Gambier and Districts Health Service and will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of safe, high quality medical care within the Limestone Coast Local Health Service, including clinical governance and audit processes.  You will be responsible for managing the recruitment, orientation and management of medical staff and medical service contracts.  You will ensure junior medical staff achieve appropriate competencies as required by the specialist colleges and Medical Board of Australia.  Giving advice on medical service matters, the incumbent will ensure effective communication and service coordination between resident and visiting Specialists, Salaried Medical Officers, General Practitioners and other external service providers.

• General working hours will be Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00
• There will be a requirement for some after-hours meetings which will be advised
• Remuneration for the placement will be $3000 per day inclusive of call backs and penalties
• Self-catering accommodation, travel and car hire will be provided and booked by LCLHN Medical Administration

Selection Criteria

To be considered for this Locum Director of Medical Services position, applicants must have Specialist Registration with AHPRA and complete all required paperwork once confirmed.
