We are currently tendering for work with the Department of Home Affairs to commence in July 2023 and are seeking expressions of interest for the following roles with an interest or experience in the administration of health policies:

Part time or full time Onsite Clinical Advisors with minimum commitment to 0.6FTE

Medical (business hours). Based in Sydney or Canberra. (You must hold a fellowship with at least one of the recognised medical colleges in Australia)

Nursing (business hours). Based in Sydney or Canberra or Immigration detention centres across the country including travel to Christmas Island

• one General Practice Detention Health Medical Officer;

• one Occupational and Environmental Physician;

• two Migration Public Health Doctor or Refugee Specialist or Doctor with relevant experience;

• one 0.5 FTE Radiologist or Specialist to assist with migration health assurance activities;six registered nurses with combined experiences in governance, desktop and onsite assurance activities, health secretariat and stakeholder management; and 

• four Clinical Assurance Liaison Officers – registered nurses with experience in governance, desktop and onsite assurance activities and stakeholder management to work onsite at the Immigration Detention Facilities in NSW, VIC, QLD and WA (including travel to Christmas Island).

The type of work you may be required to be involved in includes: Clinical Input into Policy and Program Development and Management; Detention Health; Migration Health; Complex Case Issues; Occupational and Environmental (Staff Health) and Wellbeing; Clinical Guidance and Quality Assurance; Data Analysis and Reporting; Departmental Engagement Activity.

Specialist Panel to provide ad-hoc advice, opinions and medico-legal opinions remotely using the Department’s portal.
